No more wear and corrosion - with our bimetallic barrels

Reiloy develops high-grade alloys for bimetallic barrels to effectively protect against wear and corrosion.

In a sophisticated process using proprietary production equipment, we manufacture warp-free barrel blanks that can be finished either by us our by our customers without further straightening.

Armour alloys for Reiloy barrels

Reiloy armour alloys are developed in our in-house materials laboratory. They are continually tested to meet extremely high requirements.

The structural photos on the left show a selection of various armour alloys.

Reiloy barrel materials

The steels used in our barrel materials have been selected to meet the requirements of injection-moulding and extruder applications.

For high-pressure barrels (such as those used in injection-moulding applications) we use our "Reiloy Standard" Cr-V special backing steel, which is produced according to Reiloy chemical and treatment specifications.

The diagram on the left indicates the maximum permissible internal pressure for Reiloy Standard barrels of various bore diameters (B) in relation to the outside diameter (D), at an operating temperature of 350 °C.
