PM HIP technology

With PM-HIP technology, Reiloy is able to offer solutions for complex subassembly geometries that are subject to wear from plastics filled high. The PM-HIP method makes it possible to specifically process highest-alloy hard-facing alloys into extremely wear-resisting layers.

The animation demonstrates the production cycle by PM-HIP.

A characteristic for the PM-HIP process is that the liquid melt phase is completely avoided. Avoiding a hardening as is known from melt metallurgical processes leads to a series of positive material characteristics.

PM-HIP armour coatings are characterised by:

  • Extremely fine isotropic texture.
  • Free of cracks or pores.
  • Depending on alloy structure, very highly to limited corrosion resistant.
